did you know you changed my life?

“I kept watching you with your son,” he said. “The way you talk to each other is something I hadn’t seen before. It’s so natural. It’s so comfortable. Like he’s an adult. I go home and am trying all new language with my son and it is changing our relationship. He’s opening up more. He’s less angry. And I actually enjoy him. I always loved him. But now I actually like him. The slightest language change has really made a difference. Like I used to say, ‘I have to watch my son.’ Now I look forward to our time and say, ‘This is our time together. Where it used to be an intrusion on something I need to get done, now I cherish it and won’t let anything interrupt it.’

Wow. I had no idea the impact I was having. No idea. It wouldn’t change anything if I did, of course. But it just goes to show how the littlest thing can touch people. All the more reason to be loving and joyful. That’s easy with my son...I can work on it in other areas.
