guest post: a non-BSG but still savored moment

This guest post brought to you by SuperMel. Few can twist a word or story to truth with humor like she can.

Thanks to Meredith for inviting me to write a guest post on anything I wanted except for Battlestar Galactica. So here's a story about friends and intuition.

Some of the best moments happen when I listen to the inner voice that quietly nudges me in the right direction. Doesn't have to be anything major, just moments I savor even years later.

My friend Mary and I were tight. Partners in crime, Thelma and Louise, you get the picture. Mary lived in the city and I lived in suburbia, which made it difficult to get together and wreak havoc. One day, unbeknownst to Mary, I happened to be headed downtown for a meeting.

Suddenly I thought, "Hmm, I should stop by Mary's beforehand." So I got off the Metro and took the back way towards her place. Suddenly, I see Mary running down the sidewalk towards me, saying, "SuperMel!SuperMel!" and waving a City Paper in her hand. She had seen her ex-boyfriend's personal ad in the City Paper and was Having A Moment.

Something told her to take a walk towards Woodley Park.

I love that moment. What's yours?
